The Union

The Union. Better known as the place on Purdue's campus that has a wide variety of places to eat, plus my Starbs. While the Union is a beautiful place, it is near a mile away from my dorm. So when I finally reach salvation, I feel like I need to relish in my time, like it's a luxury.

Weird? Yes. Do I care? No.

Now let me get to where I was going with this. While I relish in my time at the watering hole, I enjoy people watching and of course being nosy.

Weird? Yes. Again, do I care? No.

From people watching you can definitely tell who knows what is going on and how the Union works, and then there is the scared to death parents with their high school seniors. That will have its own post later on cause good lord do I have something to say about them. Anyway, then there is the typical students studying, the occasional napper, and then the random adults who are in business attire while eating a burger at Pappy's Sweet Shop.

What I came here to rant about is the people who take up AN ENTIRE TABLE with all of their things. Like yes, I get it, you don't want to sit with people. You gotta study and focus. Your Venti Chai Tea Latte takes up the other seat. Yes, I get it.

BUT, when it is lunch time and seating is limited, MOVE YOUR FRICK FRACKING THINGS ELSEWHERE. Cause do you know how hard it is to eat my dessert crepe while standing? It's super hard cause I have Nutella coming out one side and my diced strawberries coming out the other. Is this a pretty sight? Hellz no.

Moral of the story, I was a little hot and heavy with some individuals who don't give two poops if I'm a hot mess while eating my crepe and drinking my Wild Strawberry smoothie. Did I live through this catastrophe? Yes. Am I happy about it? You guessed it, no.

MOVE YOUR JACKET SO I CAN SIT LIKE A NORMAL PERSON.

Hi, Meet the Typical College Girl

Hi blogging world, I'm A Typical College Girl.

You may ask yourself, "Why do I care about what a typical college girl has to say?". I'm glad you asked. Because what else do you have to do? Take 5 minutes out of your day to read my petty complaints while drink my Starbs.

So to introduce myself, I am a freshman at Purdue University. I am pursuing a degree in no, not nursing, stop assuming. I'm in Agriculture Education. PLOT TWIST. not so typical college girl major. Though, a typical Ag major for Purdue University.

If you're unfamiliar with Purdue University, it is a well known agriculture school, with commendable science and engineering mumbo jumbo. Purdue is in West Lafayette, Indiana where it snows one day then its 65 degrees the next. So this makes my daily Starbucks order tough on if I should go for a hot or iced Chai Tea.

Anyway, I'm a proud Boilermaker, and this blog is not here to bash Purdue. Have I been mad at my University? Hellz bellz yes. But I still love Purdue, and I'm happy that it is my second home.

I'm from a small town in Indiana. (Are all towns in Indiana small? basically) I graduated from a high school of 100, where everybody knew everybody and their moms'. You've heard this this rant before. Basically my county was one big fam bam. I grew up with agriculture and that's why I came here to Purdue.

What is Ag Ed? You are just full of questions my dear reader. Ag Ed is a teacher who literally teaches agriculture. Soil, bugs, livestock, horticulture, food science, kern, you get the picture. I'll also be an FFA Advisor, and if you don't know what FFA is, man get out from under your rock and google something. Add 4-H in there if you don't know what that is. Those two things helped me find my career.

So now I'm here, at Purdue, with typical problems. But I can't talk them out like a regular person. So I'm just going to type about it and see if anyone finds them funny. I hope my problems can make you feel better about your legit, adult problems. Probably won't, but its worth a try.

What is Blog?

Well, I never thought I'd be the type to start a blog, but look at me, breaking stereotypes. After being in college for almost a year now, I have some thoughts that I think are worth sharing. Do I think people are actually going to read my posts? No. But who doesn't want to hear from a typical college girl every once in a while? Still no one? Oh well. I'll just type to myself and laugh when I read these a year or so from now.
